PROTASCO’S ROADCARE GIVES EXAM KITS TO 2,180 SPM AND STPM STUDENTS IN TEMERLOH

TEMERLOH, PAHANG, 2 October 2019: Almost 2,200 SPM and STPM students from 20 schools in Temerloh received exam kit supplies from Roadcare (M) Sdn Bhd (Roadcare), a subsidiary of Protasco Berhad, as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme in collaboration with the Public Works Department (PWD).
 
Some 2,180 students sitting for their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) next month received exam kits containing essential stationery items including a protractor each at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Abu Bakar, Temerloh, Pahang from Dato’ Wan Imran Wan Omar who is Chief Operating Officer of Protasco’s Maintenance Division.
 
Deputy Minister of Works Mohd Anuar B Mohd Tahir, who is also Temerloh MP, witnessed the presentation of the exam kits worth RM25,000. Among the recipients were 655 students from Sekolah Menengah Agama Al-Khairiah, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Abu Bakar and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Temerloh.
 
“Through this contribution, we hope to help enable the students to sit in their SPM and STPM examinations comfortably. This is one of the small ways that we can support and motivate them as they pave their way towards a bright future. At Protasco and Roadcare, we want to play our part and give back to the communities we operate in,” said Wan Imran.
 
A pioneer and specialist in road construction and maintenance in Malaysia, Roadcare gives back and contributes to communities wherever it operates through its annual CSR programmes.
 
Sustainability is one of the key areas in Protasco’s operations. The Group has been active in its philanthropic efforts through its ‘Back to School Programmes’ and other CSR programmes held annually in areas that it operates business in.
 
In 2018, similar programmes were held for multiple group of communities which includes donation of wheelchairs to underprivileged families in Lawas, Sarawak, contribution of solar street lamp in Kg Kong Luping, Ba’kelalan Sarawak and back to school programmes in Felda Purun, Bera, Pahang as well as another in Temerloh.
